HEAVY DUTY BRASS REDUCING HEXAGON UNION M-F WITH FLAT SEAL

Brass reducing hexagon union male-female with flat seal, brass threaded fitting to adapt male to female thread of smaller dimension with flat seal. The brass reducing hexagon union male-female, figure 246, also known as reducing tap extension, is a fitting made of brass which allows for adapting the end of a pipe or fitting with male thread to another with female thread of smaller dimension. It is formed by a cylindrical male threaded end and the other end with internal female thread of greater size, with hexagonal outer shape for wrench tightening. The greater thickness of the cylinder wall achieves higher surface seat at the ends, allowing sealing by means of a flat seal without need for Teflon or hemp fibre in the thread pitches. Product range with dimensions from 1/2" x 1" to 1.1/2" x 2".
